Hack the Fog 1.0 made history in San Francisco providing a first time experience for many high schoolers in San Francisco. Due to the pandemic Hack the Fog 2.0 was put on hold but we are happy to bring Hack the Cloud, our online hackathon in response to the pandemic.

Eligibility
Hack the Cloud is only available to high schoolers - sorry, college kids! If you are a middle schooler and want to attend, please email us at contact@hackthefog.com - we will accept you on a case-by-case basis. We are open to incoming high school freshmen and graduating seniors!
Countries: United States (solely due to shipping of prizes, if you don't mind not being in the running for prizes anyone from any country is open to join)
The beginner prize can only be won if a majority or half of your team are beginners/first-time hackathon participants.
Requirements
All projects must be built during the event and in groups of 4 or less to have an eligible submission. Must be in the US to be eligible to receive prizes. You must show proof of being in high school (or entering/graduating).

1st Place
1 Air Pod 2nd Generation for each team member (Maximum of 4 people on a team) and $250 in credits on Bugsee and 4 months standard plan on CloudSploit
2nd Place
1 Google Home Mini for each team member (Maximum of 4 people on a team) and $250 in credits on Bugsee
3rd Place
$100 dollars in amazon gift cards (Will be split based on team size) and $250 in credits on Bugsee
Beginner Prize
$50 dollars in amazon gift cards (Will be split based on team size) and $250 in credits on Bugsee. It can only be won if a majority or half of your team are beginners.
EchoAR Prize
$50 dollars in amazon gift cards and one month free business tier echoAR account and your project gets featured in echoAR's newsletter to investors and an AR/VR ecosystem. You must use echoAR's software/platform in your project to be elgible.

Aesthetics
Projects will be graded out of 5 based on the design of the UI. -
Usefulness
Projects will be graded out of 5 based on the potential practical usage of their project. -
Originality
Projects will be graded out of 5 based on originality/creativity. -
Presentation/Judges impressions
A video/presentation submission is not required but highly recommended. Keep videos to 5 minutes or less. Judges will give a score out of 5 on their impression and their overall feeling towards the project.
